School Vision and Values

Our school community is anchored in the deep wisdom of Christian learning and service, enabling every child to flourish in body, heart, mind and soul. We pursue an inclusive vision, grounded in the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, that all may have life and have it to the full.

Our vision is our anchor and guides everything we do and is underpinned by our core values which are friendship, thankfulness, wisdom, endurance, forgiveness and service. We seek to foster our spiritual and moral development within a caring community and work in close partnership with parents and carers.

Our school values are rooted in stories from the Bible:

  • A story of thankfulness (Luke 17:11-19) - please click here

  • A story of service (Luke 10: 25-37)- please click here

Collective Worship

Children take part in Collective Worship every day. Our Parish Priest, Father Simon leads Collective Worship weekly. Collective Worship is inspired by the themes of the LDBS cycle of Collective Worship. These cover a number of themes linked to our school vision and values.

At least weekly, Father Simon, the Rector of St Paul's Church (Covent Garden), leads regular Collective Worship for the whole school.

We work closely with priests from other local churches and university chaplaincies. The London Diocesan Board also provides advice and additional support.

Outside speakers are also regularly invited to speak to the children.

Key Stage 2 children attend Eucharist at St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden, every term.

The whole school takes part in annual church celebrations that form part of the rich tradition and tapestry of our school, including termly Eucharist, the Harvest serviceRemembrance service, Christmas service, Oranges and Lemons service, Easter service and Leavers’ service.

  • St Clement Danes - the central church of the Royal Air Force
  • St Mary le Strand - a Church of England church in the centre of the Strand

Religious Education

In Religious Education, through stories and discussions work we aim to explore the teaching of Jesus, ideas about God and create a sense of wonder about the world in which we live. Our RE scheme of work also has a strong emphasis on the teaching of other faiths. Through regular philosophical enquiries we seek to reflect together on philosophical questions and develop as critical thinkers.
